The Naked Stage's 24 Hour Theatre Project 2013!!!

We are proud to present:

The Naked Stage's Theatre Project 2013!
Fundraiser at Palm Beach Dramaworks. Monday, October 28th at 8 p.m.

How does it work?

At 7 p.m., on Sunday, October 27th, 2013, 8 playwrights will gather at Palm Beach Dramaworks and select a theme from which they must each write a short play to be staged, rehearsed and performed the next day -- just 24 hours later! At sunrise on Monday, October 28th, their randomly distributed actors, directors and stage managers arrive and spend the entire day bringing the writers’ work to life. A process that usually takes weeks! That night, at 8 p.m., an audience will gather to see . . . well, we have no idea what they're going to see, actually!

It’s like the entire creative theatrical process on SPEED!

Long Night's Journey Into Day: The 24 Hour Theatre Project

It's likely a goodly number of actors, directors and certainly some playwrights slept in late this morning. They earned it. Many spent 7 p.m. Sunday to 10 p.m. Monday being creative at gunpoint.

Q&A with Naked Stage Co-Founder Antonio Amadeo

Talkin’ in the Green Room With: Antonio Amadeo

BY BILL HIRSCHMAN

Welcome to a regular, if intermittent feature: Irreverent, lighthearted question & answer sessions with some of South Florida’s best known professionals. Unlikely but perhaps, secretly, Antonio Amadeo is actually a nasty rotten misanthrope, but no one will ever believe it. Amadeo is widely-regarded as one of the nicest guys and quietly talented members in the local theater community, eliciting comparisons to Tom Hanks and a teddy bear (although Amadeo himself reveals below that he’s Batman.) Over the decades he has built an enviable resume of acting roles, including the tortured souls in Mosaic Theatre’s The Elephant Man, GableStage’s The Pillowman and Promethean Theatre’s The Unseen...

Archive Pic of the Week!

Every week, the Naked Stage will post a random archive pic intended to give you a little added insight into who we are and what we do. These pics will include show pics, rehearsal shots, candid pics and pics from the company members' past. For the most part, these will be photos that will not make it into the website, but are fun to look at. I hope you enjoy.

This first shot is of Erin Joy Schmidt & Barry Tarallo rehearsing a scene for Elena Garcia's Randok’s Retirement Villa of Galactic Scoundrels and Their Cat-tastic Holiday Show for The Naked Stage's 24-Hour Theatre Project 2008 at the Miracle Theatre.

The second pic is founding company member John Manzelli taking a break from rehearsing Lucas Leyva's For Love of Play-Doh & F*ck You, Harold Pinter also for The Naked Stage's 24-Hour Theatre Project 2008.

The photographer for these particular pictures was Anabelle Amadeo. In all, there were 4 photographers working this event (All of them generously donated their time and talent). They were Anabelle Amadeo, Aran Graham, the great George Schiavone & Angela Garrett-Wallis.
