South Florida’s Fastest Theatre Production is BACK!!!

THRILLING fundraiser finds a new home in Palm Beach County.
The Naked Stage welcomes you to the opening event of the 2010 SOUTH FLORIDA THEATRE FESTIVAL. Based on a pattern commonly employed across the country; the "24-Hour Theatre" concept returns to South Florida thanks once again to the Naked Stage. This year's event is hosted by Caldwell Theatre Company and cosponsored by SouthFloridaTheatre.com and WLRN.

How does it work? At 7pm on Sunday, October 3rd, 2010, 8 playwrights will gather at the beautiful Count de Hoernle Theatre (home to Caldwell Theatre Company) in Boca Raton and select a theme from which they must each write a short play to be staged, rehearsed and performed the next day - just 24 hours later! At sunrise on Monday, October 4th, their randomly distributed actors, directors and stage managers arrive and spend the entire day bringing the writers' work to life. A process that usually takes a minimum of two weeks! That night, at 8pm, an audience will gather to see . . . Well, I have no idea what they're going to see, actually.

It's like the entire creative theatrical process on SPEED!
This one-night event is coordinated by Naked Stage Artistic Director Katherine Amadeo and features a rare on-stage appearance by:

Artistic Director of Caldwell Theatre Clive Cholerton!

As well as many of South Florida's TOP actors, directors & playwrights.

Archive Pic of the Week!

This is me (Producing Artistic Director Antonio Amadeo) during the photo call for Nerve by Adam Szymkowicz. I played oppostie my wife, Katherine, in the production which was directed by John Manzelli. I like this pic because it shows off a little of the detail I enjoyed putting into the set. It's our Karaoke corner of the "bar." Behind it was the "billiards room" with a full sized pool table. It's probably my favorite set I've done. Check out the pics at www.nakedstage.org!

Archive Pic of the Week!

Every week, the Naked Stage will post a random archive pic intended to give you a little added insight into who we are and what we do. These pics will include show pics, rehearsal shots, candid pics and pics from the company members' past. For the most part, these will be photos that will not make it into the website, but are fun to look at. I hope you enjoy.

This first shot is of Erin Joy Schmidt & Barry Tarallo rehearsing a scene for Elena Garcia's Randok’s Retirement Villa of Galactic Scoundrels and Their Cat-tastic Holiday Show for The Naked Stage's 24-Hour Theatre Project 2008 at the Miracle Theatre.

The second pic is founding company member John Manzelli taking a break from rehearsing Lucas Leyva's For Love of Play-Doh & F*ck You, Harold Pinter also for The Naked Stage's 24-Hour Theatre Project 2008.

The photographer for these particular pictures was Anabelle Amadeo. In all, there were 4 photographers working this event (All of them generously donated their time and talent). They were Anabelle Amadeo, Aran Graham, the great George Schiavone & Angela Garrett-Wallis.

WELCOME to the Naked Stage's BLOG!

Well, PHASE ONE of our new website is FINALLY up & running!!!

We have included this blog as part of our new website in order to update you on any recent news on the Naked Stage.

Please take a stroll through the new website, then come back here and let us know what you think.

We are very excited as each individual page has an entirely different artistic spin to it. We thought it was important to show that (like in our productions) you don't need a lot of money and hi-tech resources to do something artistic. As you will see, some of the site is still under construction, but we will continue to fill it out as the days go. But for now, there are 37 entirely different pages up and ready for you to view.

Check it out! What's your favorite page?!
